In 2007, the association research group "Multimedia and Imaging Team" (MIT) was founded in the context of the Ghent University Association.


The MIT association research group unites 3 research groups from Ghent University, 1 from University College West Flanders ('Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen'), 1 from University College Ghent ('Hogeschool Gent'), and 1 from University College Arteveldehogeschool ('Arteveldehogeschool').
